Healthy Candy Bars

These are the perfect on the go snack/breakfast staple! Simple ingredients,
easy to make and you can swap out flavor ingredients to make them
​just about any flavor you want! 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup almond ot oat flour (almond is better!) 
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 2-3 tbsp nut butter
  • 1 cup pulp from leftover nut or oat milk making (if you don’t have this, simply add in 1 more tbsp of nut butter and another 1/2 cup of almond flour! and a splash of milk if it is too dry feeling! 
  • 2 flax eggs
  • 4-8 tbsp of maple syrup or other sweetener (dependent on sweetness preference!) 
  • add in flavors of choice – chips, dried fruit, coconut shreds, berries or banana, cinnamon, cocoa or cacao etc! I added chocolate chips to mine.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Line a square baking dish with parchment paper.
  3. Make 2 flax eggs – 1 egg = 2.5 tbsp water + 1 tbsp flax. Let sit!
  4. Mix together dry ingredients first.. mix it up!
  5. Then add in the wet and mix well! It should be sticky but very very thick – but not chalky or dry!
  6. Press into baking sheet and top with fruit if you want – or leave as is!
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes – let it cool entirely before adding any additional toppings / cutting it up!
  8. Store in an air tight container for up to 4/5 days or in the freezer for 3/4 months!
